Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Therapy –

What is chronic fatigue syndrome?

If you research it here’s what you see:

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS) or systemic exertional intolerance disease (SEID), is a serious, long-term illness that can make it difficult for people to do their usual activities. It affects many body systems and can cause severe fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, sleep problems, and other symptoms. CFS can begin suddenly or gradually and can last for years. Symptoms often worsen after physical or mental exertion, or after standing for long periods of time.

Like most chronic diseases and conditions the diagnosis is really just a description of the problem.  Traditional medical systems and even physical therapies just try to help people deal with and live with the problem.  Some may do light exercise or gentle body work while others might try more vigorous stretches and exercises.

When severe fatigue and muscle pains with cognitive and sleep disturbances don’t resolve what can you do?

The key here is to find out what your body is protecting you from.  Your body is not causing severe fatigue and muscle soreness for no good reason. What’s going on is your body is protecting you from something.

And your body is very smart, there’s a wisdom in what your body is doing.  It’s kinda like someone with a chronic wound that’s not healing.  If 5 people show up with a chronic wound, one may have a diabetes problem and they need to get their blood sugar under control.

Another person my have an infection and that needs to be addressed. That could be why a wound is not healing.

Another may be malnourished and dehydrated like many elderly people.  And solving this and the body heals the wound.

The key with chronic fatigue syndrome is to find what your body is protecting you from.  With myofascial mapping a diagnostic hands on technique I use, we can find what your body is protecting you from.

Many years ago I had a chronic muscle spasm in my leg which limited my running to less than 5 minutes.  I had been running 70 miles or more a week for years.  But now was unable to run.  I tried many therapists, orthotics, massage and rest to no avail.

When I went to an IMT physical therapist she found some restrictions and problems in my arteries around my heart.  Sounds serious right! It was not a medical issue or concern.  She did the IMT physical therapy and 2 days later I tested it and ran 30 minutes pain free.  I never had that issue again.

It’s like that with chronic fatigue syndrome.  We can find why your body is doing what it’s doing and find your answers.

Reach out if you would like me to take a look.  We can do a free myfascial map assessment and I can let you know what I see that’s going on and how to help you heal.

Send me a message here and we’ll get a time for us to meet.
