From the medical point of view, “There’s currently no cure for CFS (also called myalgic encephalomyelitis), so treatments focus on managing symptoms. “It’s a very challenging diagnosis,” admits Nessreen Rizvi, M.D., a primary care physician at Henry Ford Health.”

The traditional medical system does not use the word “cured”. At best they say, “remission” or “managed”….

There can be a place for traditional medical system treatments for some people, especially to alleviate the symptoms of conditions. But this way of working does not address the root causes of chronic fatigue syndrome.

With Integrative Physical Therapy we’re looking for the “why” of it. Why would someone’s body cause such debilitating fatigue and why doesn’t the body heal even with rest, medications, usual physical therapy or massage?

The key is, well, to find the key. There’s a reason someone’s body is having symptoms. In our Integrative Manual Therapy way of thinking we’re looking for that reason.

With myofascial mapping we can find the primary structures in the body that are at the root cause and also determine what type of problem we’re dealing with.

For example, for some it may be the Gut. A common area to look. There’s a term called dysbiosis which means “leaky gut syndrome”. In this case the membrane lining of the small and large intestines can be somewhat weakened and the body in its attempt to protect itself will cause restrictions in the gut and abdomen, even around the detox centers like the liver and kidneys.

You can think of this as the house that the liver, but and kidneys live in. If the house is tight this will limit the way the body can detox and function. Then we can think, why is the house tight? Are there toxins in the diet or water or supplants or other things the person is consuming?

By finding the root causes we can change them. We can improve the mobility of the ribcage and abdomen and spine and pelvis to give these areas more room to function.

We can remove offending foods and substances. Any food or substance can be a medicine or a toxin.

We can motility test foods and substances and see what the person’s body likes and doesn’t like.

With Integrative Physical Therapy also called Integrative Manual Therapy we can find these root causes. By treating the root causes the person can heal naturally. Once these root causes are cleared the body starts to feel better even on the first session.

If you want more information on this way of healing, reach out to me and we can even do a free consult to map your body and I can let you know what I see that’s at the root cause of your health challenges.
