Hey everyone —

Ralph Havens here. This is a message to my son, to myself, and to anyone who feels that deep call to go all in — the ones who want to chase greatness, not just talk about it.

The best in the world hang out together. They train together. They push each other. They live and breathe the dream. For distance runners, one of the most powerful places on earth for that is Flagstaff, Arizona.

Next summer, we’re heading to Flagstaff. We’ll train, dream, and connect with the best — run miles at altitude, hit tempos, flow through speed work, and stand on the shoulders of those who’ve already done it. When you put yourself in that environment, something inside you changes. You find another gear. You realize there are no limits — only layers to peel back.

Built here in Bellingham — ready to level up

At Sehome High School, under Coach Kevin Ryan and Coach Conner Johnson, we’ve earned state championship titles in cross country and built a powerful team culture.

Through Salish Stride — the club system coached by Coach Finley and Coach Ali — our local runners have reached Nationals and competed at the Brooks PR Invitational, one of the nation’s elite meets.

This Bellingham running community — Sehome to Salish Stride — is filled with heart, grit, and untapped potential. Now it’s time to take the next step.
